We know very little about the mysterious, “car-sized” drones spotted hovering near Bedminster, Bristol, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The sightings, reported by multiple residents, are said to have taken place between 2am and 3am.
Residents claim the drones, estimated to be around 5-6 feet in diameter, were hovering low over rooftops and were lit up with bright lights. Some witnesses described the objects as “giant umbrellas” or “reflector balls”, while others believed they were “definitely drones”.
No clear images or videos of the drones have been released, leading to speculation about what they might be. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed they saw the drones flying “in a weird pattern”, suggesting they may have been under remote control.
It is unclear who may be operating the drones, although some have speculated that they could be part of a military exercise or a prank gone wrong. Local police have confirmed they received reports of the sightings but say they have no evidence of any wrongdoing.
Despite the lack of concrete information, the sightings have sparked a mix of fascination and alarm among residents. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” said one witness. “It was a weird and unsettling experience, to be honest.”
While authorities continue to investigate the incident, many questions remain unanswered. What was the purpose of the drones? Who was operating them? And what do they say about the increasing use of drone technology in our daily lives? Only time will tell.
