MGM Delays Release of Sinners Starring Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler

Despite being on track for a March 7, 2025 release, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has been moved to April 18, 2025, as part of Warner Bros.’ recent calendar changes. The action-horror movie, starring Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers, was originally set to face off against smaller-budget films, but its new release date pits it against more high-profile titles and direct genre competitors.

The delay may be a blessing in disguise, as it gives Coogler’s team more time to finish post-production. Sinners will now face a different group of competition at the box office, including Christopher Landon’s Drop and Al Pacino’s The Ritual, among others.

With a reported budget of over $90 million, Warner Bros.’ decision to move Sinners to a more crowded month is an interesting one. The studio will be competing with itself thanks to A Minecraft Movie’s release, but it’s the other horror-related titles that could prove troublesome.

Despite the changes, Sinners is likely to still be a hit, thanks to the success of Jordan and Coogler’s previous collaborations. The movie’s blend of supernatural horror and historical tension could appeal to fans of both genres, and its unique premise could set it apart from other horror films.
