Melted chocolate chaos closes California roads.

A big rig carrying thousands of pounds of chocolate collided with a mechanical issue along the Interstate 580 Friday morning, causing a destructive fire that blocked traffic flow and left a trail of chocolate on the road for hours.

The incident reportedly started around 6:18 a.m. close to Grant Line Road where the truck’s brakes unexpectedly caught fire due to technical failure. The flames went on to spread to its tires and the rest of the vehicle, engulfed the entire truck.

Surprisingly, approximately 30,000 to 40,000 pounds of liquid chocolate were in the carrier trailer, which almost went through the process of congealing. An image available on the California Highway Patrol’s X account showed countless gallons of chocolate flowing in various directions from the stranded vehicle onto the highway path.

As of 13:30 hours on this very day, two avenues of the highway were put to a stop as fire squads continued to clean this cocoa mess. No life losses were documented in correlation to the truck fire crisis, according to Tyler Hahn, a representative, CHP.
