Hollywood Bound: Chiefs’ Marquise Brown Cleared to Return from Injury
Kansas City’s wide receiver Marquise Brown, who has been recovering from surgery to repair his SC joint, has received final clearance to return to practice with the Chiefs, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Brown has been on injured reserve since being injured in the preseason, but is likely to have his 21-day practice window opened Friday or Monday.
The Chiefs will be cautious with Brown’s comeback, but his return adds depth to the team’s wide receiver corps, which has already lost Rashee Rice for the season and added DeAndre Hopkins via trade. Brown and Hopkins were teammates on the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.
The Chiefs, who have already locked up an AFC West title, face a challenging slate of games in the coming weeks, including a matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, followed by three games in 11 days. Kansas City will host the Seahawks on Saturday, December 21, before traveling to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas. The regular season concludes on the road against the Denver Broncos.
The news of Brown’s return is a welcome development for the Chiefs, who hope to have him back on the field before the playoffs.
