Outgoing Trump White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is setting the tone for her new role, promising to crack down on “drama” and self-centered infighting in the West Wing. In an interview with Axios, Wiles emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, stating that she won’t tolerate behaviors that are “counterproductive to the mission.”
Wiles, who will be the first woman to hold the powerful role, also expressed her commitment to rolling back excessive regulations, keeping taxes low, and securing the border and deporting undocumented immigrants. She praised her predecessor, Jeff Zients, for his professionalism during the transition period.
Meanwhile, President Trump himself took a different tone in an interview with Hugh Hewitt, criticizing the Biden administration’s handling of the transition. Trump accused them of trying to make it difficult for his team, saying they are giving out “trillions of dollars in nonsense” and pushing the Green New Deal.
Wiles’ appointment as chief of staff marks a new era in the Trump administration, with a focus on discipline and teamwork. The former co-manager of Trump’s winning 2024 campaign, Wiles is known for her ability to maintain a tight ship and keep the campaign focused. She will be responsible for setting the tone and ensuring that the White House operates effectively.
