A Passenger Plane Collides with Army Black Hawk Helicopter over Potomac River

A passenger plane has collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River, near Ronald Reagan National Airport just outside of Washington, DC, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and defense officials. The incident occurred on Wednesday night.

There were 64 people on board the aircraft, a plane that took off from Wichita, Kansas, bound for Washington, and was on its final approach to land at Reagan airport when the collision occurred. Additionally, there were three people aboard the helicopter.
