Man seen strolling NYC streets before deadly CEO shooting.

Surveillance videos obtained by Fox News Digital appear to show the killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson walking towards the hotel where he was shot. The videos, taken at the Stage Star Deli near the hotel, show a person with the same build and clothing as the suspect walking down 55th Street towards the Hilton Hotel at 6:19 a.m. In one of the videos, the suspect is seen briefly stopping in front of a pile of trash and bending down before moving on.

Police sources told Fox News that the suspect used a fake ID to check into a New York City hostel before the shooting, paying in cash. The suspect also dropped a burner phone in an alley after the shooting, which police are investigating for data and fingerprints.

In addition, police are examining a water bottle left at a nearby Starbucks, where the suspect paid in cash. DNA from the bottle is being used to build a suspect profile.

Former NYPD inspector and Fox News contributor Paul Mauro said that while the type of weapon used by the gunman could aid the investigation, rumors of the suspect being a professional hitman are speculative and should be mindful of the fact that such professionals typically exist only in movies. Mauro emphasized that everything known at this point is speculation.

Separate video footage shows Thompson walking down a sidewalk outside the Hilton Hotel just before he was shot, a masked man emerging from the shadows to gun him down before fleeing the scene.
