A Good Samaritan’s Tragic Fate on Christmas Eve
A 53-year-old man, Paul Clifford, was found dead near a smoldering vehicle on a dirt road in Arizona on Christmas Eve. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of suspicious activity at around 1:20 a.m. and discovered Clifford’s body.
According to investigators, Clifford had left his home to help a stranded motorist with car trouble, but he failed to return. His family reported him missing, and deputies later found his vehicle in Tucson.
Clifford’s family has set up an online fundraiser to honor his memory, describing him as “a gentle giant and had a huge, caring heart.” His daughter, Sabrinna Vining, wrote on Facebook that her father had gone missing at 11:30 p.m. to help someone with a dead battery and was found dead in a remote area.
The sheriff’s department is investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made. The motive behind Clifford’s murder remains unclear.
