A Houston man, 29-year-old Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, has been arrested and charged with capital murder for allegedly fatally stabbing a 28-year-old mother and her 2-year-old child.
On Friday at around 3:30 a.m., Houston Police Department (HPD) officers were flagged down and notified that an adult female and child were being held hostage in an apartment. Upon entering the third-floor apartment, officials found Fisher asleep on the couch and the victims suffering from multiple stab wounds, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that both victims had been stabbed and had injuries consistent with a physical altercation. The evidence collected, including blood on Fisher’s clothing, led Homicide detectives and the Harris County District Attorney’s office to charge and book Fisher in the Harris County Jail.
Fisher has a prior criminal record, having served a seven-year sentence for armed robbery and additional time for contraband, which he was released from in December of last year. The identities of the victims remain unknown pending next-of-kin notification.
