Major Mortgage Giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to Back Larger Home Loans in 2025



The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has announced a 5.2% increase in loan limits for mortgages purchased by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in 2025. The new conforming loan limit (CLL) for a one-unit home will be $806,500, a $40,000 increase from the 2024 baseline cap. In high-cost areas, the loan ceiling will be 150% higher, reaching $1,209,750.
