CHRISTMAS PARTY CHAOS: Buckingham Palace Staff Brawl at London Bar
A Christmas party for Buckingham Palace staff spiraled “out of control” on Tuesday evening, resulting in a 24-year-old housemaid being arrested for assault, criminal damage, and being drunk and disorderly.
The drama unfolded at an All Bar One in Victoria Street, London, after a group of around 50 Palace staff members, including the maid, arrived for a pre-arranged party. Witnesses claimed the maid became violent, smashing glasses and throwing punches at the bar manager.
Police were called to the scene at 9:21pm and the maid was arrested and taken into custody. She was later released with a fine the following evening.
Details of the incident emerged as warnings are issued about the dangers of Black Eye Friday, or Mad Friday, a popular night for office parties.
The Palace has said it will investigate the incident and take disciplinary action against those involved. The Maid was arrested for common assault, criminal damage, and being drunk and disorderly.
The incident is understood to have started after a woman, believed to be a housemaid, had enjoyed drinks at the Palace at 4pm with a group of around 50 colleagues. They then walked to the All Bar One, a nine-minute walk away, where they continued to party.
Eyewitnesses described the scenes as chaotic, with one person claiming they had never seen someone get so “hysterical” during a night out. Another insider said it had been a “tough night” for everyone involved.
The police spokesperson confirmed that officers were called to the scene after a customer had smashed glasses and attempted to assault a member of staff. The woman was taken into custody and released the following evening with a penalty notice for disorder.
The Palace has stressed that the incident was not an official Christmas party and will be fully investigated, with disciplinary action taken as necessary.
