Longtime Democratic donor kicks off NYC mayoral campaign, promising to shift City Hall’s agenda.

Whitney Tilson, a Wall Street investor and long-time Democrat, is vowing to cut out the radical left agenda from New York City as he joins the crowded field of candidates vying to unseat Mayor Eric Adams.

Tilson, a self-proclaimed “centrist” Democrat, was one of the first in his party to call for President Biden to step down during the 2024 election cycle. He criticized the current state of high crime and corruption in the city, citing the dominance of radical left-wing views held by career politicians.

In an interview on “Fox & Friends,” Tilson outlined his plans to cut crime in half, address the cost-of-living crisis, improve public schools, eliminate corruption, and prioritize citizens and legal residents in the allocation of city resources.

The issue of the migrant crisis has taken center stage in the city, with hotels across New York City housing illegal migrants and creating a financial strain on local residents. The city has spent $6.4 billion to cover the more than 200,000 migrants who have flooded the city since 2022.

When asked if New York City should remain a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, Tilson said, “The devil’s in the details. New York’s been a sanctuary city going back to the 1970s… But under de Blasio, in 2014, especially 2018, they doubled down.”

Tilson opposes radical left views that he claims have taken hold in New York City, and he is vowing to roll back those views to adopt more sensible, centrist perspectives.
