Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon star in a romantic comedy that defies genre conventions.

Oh, Hi! Premieres at Sundance 2025: A Romantic Comedy Like No Other

Molly Gordon, the mind behind the acclaimed mockumentary comedy movie Theater Camp, is back with her second feature-length effort, Oh, Hi! In this genre-bending romantic comedy, Gordon teams up with longtime friend Sophie Brooks, who co-developed the story, stars in the film, and wrote and directed the title. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

The movie follows Iris and Isaac, an opposites-attract married couple who embark on their first romantic weekend road trip together. However, their relationship quickly unravels as a series of miscommunications, mismatched expectations, and unhinged actions pile up. Alongside Gordon, who stars as Iris, the film features an ensemble cast, including Logan Lerman, Geraldine Viswanathan, and John P. Reynolds, all of whom supported their friends in making the film.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Gordon discussed how she and Brooks drew from their own lives to develop the story, staying true to their experiences while toying with genre expectations. Lerman, Viswanathan, and Reynolds shared their reasons for joining the project, with Lerman expressing his excitement about the future of the Percy Jackson TV show.

Oh, Hi! is a romantic comedy like no other, blending genres and realities to create a unique viewing experience. As Gordon put it, “Life can sometimes feel like a horror movie… and I think that my favorite part is that the two leads come to a mutual understanding in the end. And I hope that people feel warmth when they leave.”

The film made its world premiere on January 26, 2025, at the Sundance Film Festival, and is currently awaiting acquisition by a U.S. distributor. Don’t miss out on this charming and unconventional romantic comedy!
