The Buffalo Bills’ defense put on a show against the Tennessee Titans’ running back Derrick Henry, holding him to just 21 yards on eight carries in the first half. Henry did manage to get going in the second half, scoring a 5-yard touchdown run to help fuel an 80-yard drive. However, the Ravens curiously went away from him afterwards, giving him the ball just twice more in the game.
Despite the effort, the Ravens were unable to overcome three turnovers and a dropped two-point conversion in the final minutes, ultimately falling to the Bills. Bills head coach Sean McDermott praised his team’s effort, taking pride in not only stopping Henry but also in defending the city’s honor. A local journalist had referred to Buffalo as a “city of losers” in 2020 and again this week, but McDermott was quick to disagree, saying “This is a city of winners… They’re winners. I’ve been here eight years, and I consider it my hometown.”
The win puts the Bills one step closer to their elusive Super Bowl title, and a victory in the next game would likely silence any remaining critics.
