Lizbeth Medina’s mother speaks out on murder suspect’s bid for an insanity evaluation.

Lizbeth Medina’s mother is speaking out about the latest development in the case against the man accused of her daughter’s murder.

Rodolfo Montijo-Rivera, the suspect in Medina’s killing, has requested an insanity evaluation, claiming he was insane at the time of the crime. Medina’s mother, Maria Medina, says she is shocked and upset by the news.

“My daughter was a bright, beautiful, and vibrant person,” Medina said. “She was taken away from us in the prime of her life. For someone to claim they were insane at the time of her murder is just devastating to me and my family.”

Medina says she does not believe Montijo-Rivera’s claims of insanity and is eager to see the evidence presented in court.

“I want to see the proof,” she said. “I want to see the expert testimony. I want to know what evidence they have that says he was insane. Because from what I’ve seen, he seemed completely aware of what he was doing when he committed this heinous crime.”

Medina’s murder has been a source of heartache for her family and the community. She was just 19 years old when she was killed, and her family is still grappling with the loss of their loved one.

“It’s been a nightmare,” Medina said. “It’s been a constant struggle to come to terms with what happened to my daughter. But I know that we have to keep moving forward and seeking justice for Lizbeth.”

The court will ultimately decide whether Montijo-Rivera is insane and whether he is fit to stand trial. In the meantime, Medina and her family will continue to fight for justice and honor the memory of their beloved daughter.
