Incoming President-elect Donald Trump Will Attend 125th Army-Navy Game
Donald Trump, set to take office soon, will make his fifth attendance at the 125th Army-Navy football game on Saturday. The ceremonial event is steeped in tradition, marking the official end of the college football regular season. As sitting president, Trump typically presides over the coin toss before the game; whether he will do so on Saturday as president-elect has yet to be determined – he opted out of it during his 2016 attendance.
Vice President-elect JD Vance will be in attendance, sparking criticism after he invited Daniel Penny, a former Marine acquittal over the fatal chokehold of Jordan Neely, to join him in the presidential suite. Vice President-elect Vance and fellow right-wing figures had extolled Penny’s not-guilty verdict in a controversial case, also receiving approval from President-Elect Trump, who in a prior interview called it “an awfully tough case, I think.”
Besides Trump, Florida Governor and former Navy serviceman, Ron DeSantis is also set to attend but it’s unclear if related to the President-elect.
