Montgomery’s Return is Major Boost for Lions’ Playoff Hopes
Having running back Jamaal Montgomery back would be a significant addition for the Lions, who rely heavily on him to carry their offense. After suffering an MCL injury in Week 15, Montgomery opted for rehabilitation rather than surgery. His return gives the Lions a vital boost as they enter the playoffs.
However, Montgomery is just one of the many Lions currently dealing with injuries. Rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold is considered day-to-day with a foot contusion, but unfortunately, linebackers Derrick Barnes (knee) and Carlton Davis (jaw) will miss the remainder of the season, according to coach Dan Campbell. Additionally, star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will miss the entire season after breaking his leg on October 13.
Despite not expecting Hutchinson’s return, Campbell expressed confidence that he could return next season, citing Hutchinson’s strong work ethic. The injuries will undoubtedly hinder the Lions’ postseason chances, but Montgomery’s potential return should give them an extra boost of momentum.
