Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has been the subject of controversy for his aggressive coaching style, which has drawn both praise and criticism. Despite the mixed opinions, his players have always been loyal and enthusiastic about his approach. Lions lineman Josh Paschal recently spoke to Fox News Digital, expressing his admiration for Campbell’s leadership and unapologetic approach to coaching.
Paschal praised Campbell’s commitment to his identity as a coach and person, saying, “He sticks to his identity, he knows who he is as a coach, as a man, and it’s not gonna change.” He also highlighted Campbell’s ability to motivate his players, stating, “If anybody needs to get motivated, just a regular 9-5 type of person and get motivated for a workout, wake up in the morning and watch one of his speeches.”
Despite some criticism over his coaching decisions, Paschal emphasized that the team has zero issues with Campbell’s approach, saying, “Honestly, we all love it. We love playing for him. When people think that somebody’s not doing something great, I just feel like if you change it up, then you’re going out of your identity.” The Lions are currently sitting at 12-2 atop the NFC North, making it difficult to argue with the coach’s methods, as he has seemingly turned the organization around completely.
