Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson eyes Super Bowl return.

The Detroit Lions are facing a tough road to the Super Bowl due to a number of injuries, but star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is working to change their fortunes. Hutchinson suffered a gruesome leg injury in October, breaking his tibia and fibula, but he is on track to return in time for a potential Super Bowl appearance.

On “The Squeeze” podcast, Hutchinson said, “I’m on track for my goal of returning for the Super Bowl. I keep telling all the boys when I see them in the facility. I’m like, ‘You guys just got to get there, and I promise you, I’m going to be back.'” He added that when his mother questioned the reality of his return, he told her, “There’s no other way.”

Hutchinson is one of six defensive starters who have been sidelined since Week 1, and more than 20 players have been added to the injured reserve list. Head coach Dan Campbell has emphasized the team’s refusal to make excuses, saying, “Nobody cares. Nobody is going to give us a pass or put an asterisk next to your record.”

The Lions have an 11-game win streak snapped in their recent loss to the Buffalo Bills, and face tough games against the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and Minnesota Vikings to close out the season.
