LilJuMadeDaBeat, a producer who has worked with Megan Thee Stallion, has taken to social media to express his frustration with Spotify. He claims that the streaming platform is not giving him his fair share of royalties from his music.
In a series of tweets, LilJuMadeDaBeat claimed that he has been unable to get in touch with Spotify’s customer service, and that the company’s algorithms are not accurately reporting his earnings. He also accused Spotify of taking money from his account without his permission.
“I’ve been trying to get in touch with Spotify’s customer service for weeks and nobody will respond,” LilJuMadeDaBeat tweeted. “I’m tired of their algorithms taking money from my account without my permission.”
LilJuMadeDaBeat also claimed that other producers and artists are also experiencing similar issues with Spotify. He called on fans to support independent artists by streaming their music directly from their websites or purchasing music from online retailers like Apple Music.
The controversy surrounding Spotify’s royalty payments to artists has been ongoing for some time. In 2020, the US Department of Justice launched an investigation into the company’s business practices, including its royalty payments to artists.
