Lil Durk Accused of Breaking Jail Rules as He Awaits Trial
Rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Willie Boswell, has been accused of breaking jail rules while awaiting trial. The 26-year-old is currently in custody facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a 2014 shooting in Englewood, Chicago.
According to a report by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Durk was discovered to be in possession of a cell phone, which is against jail rules. He was also accused of making unauthorized phone calls, and was allegedly found with a gift card, which is also prohibited in the jail.
The alleged infractions were reportedly discovered during a search of Durk’s cell by corrections officers. Durk’s lawyers have yet to comment on the allegations.
Durk’s ongoing trial is scheduled to begin later this year. Meanwhile, he remains behind bars at the Cook County Jail in Chicago.
