Ohio State Football Coach Willing to Let LeBron James Join the Team – with a Catch
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day would be willing to let NBA superstar LeBron James join his football team, but only if James earns a spot just like any other player. In response, James has publicly stated that he is fine with that arrangement.
During a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Coach Day was asked about the possibility of James playing for the Buckeyes. James had previously asked Day on social media whether he would have college eligibility if he switched to play a different sport. Coach Day confirmed that James would have to start at the bottom and work his way up just like any other player, no matter his famous status.
This is not the first time that James has shown an interest in playing football. He was recruited by Ohio State during his high school days and even considered switching to the NFL during the NBA’s lockout-shortened season in 2011. James has consistently proven his ability to put in the work, despite being 40 years old, making him an intriguing candidate for the team if he were to actually make the switch.
Ultimately, Coach Day believes that if James were to join the team, he would not be given any special treatment. It seems that even NBA royalty must follow the same path as everyone else to make it on the Buckeyes’ football team.
