The Los Angeles Rams secured a crucial 12-6 victory over their rival San Francisco 49ers, pulling themselves closer to the postseason while all but eliminating the 49ers’ playoff hopes. The Rams have now won seven of their last nine games, moving to 8-6 and keeping themselves within half a game of the NFC West lead.

Running back Kyren Williams was a workhorse for the Rams, carrying the ball 58 times in just four days, and racking up 108 yards on 29 carries in the win over the 49ers. The Rams struggled to move the ball early on, combining with the 49ers for 10 punts and two field goals in the first two quarters.

However, the Rams offense came alive in the second half as the rain slowed down, with Williams leading the way. The win marks the first time the Rams have swept the 49ers since 2018, and gives them a three-game winning streak against their rivals.

“We’re the big brothers now,” Williams said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Coach Sean McVay was pleased with the win, noting, “It serves us well that there’s different ways we can win a football game. Now, we’d like to be able to put it all together, but to be able to do that, that’s a real strength.”
