Laverne Cox departs E!’s red carpet coverage after three-year stint.

Laverne Cox Announces Departure from E! Entertainment’s Red Carpet Coverage

Laverne Cox, who has been the face of E! Entertainment’s red carpet coverage for three years, is leaving the network just days before the Golden Globe Awards. Cox made the announcement on Instagram, expressing her gratitude to everyone at NBCUniversal, E! Entertainment, and Den of Thieves TV for their support.

Cox shared a video montage of fun moments from her time on the red carpet, saying she was proud of the work they did and excited to continue growing and evolving as an actress, artist, host, and speaker. She also mentioned an upcoming project, a comedy series called Clean Slate, which premieres on Amazon Prime on February 6.

E! Entertainment confirmed that Cox will not participate in this weekend’s Globes coverage, and instead, Access Hollywood co-host Zuri Hall and comedian Heather McMahan will take over the network’s red carpet coverage. E! News co-host Keltie Knight will join the pair to offer her thoughts on the fashion and style trends, as well as predictions for the big winners.

The Golden Globes kick off Hollywood’s 2025 awards season and will air live nationwide on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
