Lamar Jackson Struggles Against Philadelphia Eagles, Ravens Fall Short
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson seemed to find some success against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday evening, using his legs to gain an edge. However, he ultimately failed to lead his team to victory.
Jackson threw the ball 36 times, the most since an October loss to the Cleveland Browns, and ran the ball eight times for 76 yards. Despite his efforts, the Ravens came up short.
After the game, Jackson admitted that he received an earful from his mother, Felicia Jones, about not running the ball more. “My momma just told me that. She just cussed me out,” he said. “I’m mad. We’re going to get after it. I’m not going to lie to you, we’re going to get after it. I can’t wait for this bye to get on. We got the Giants coming up, I’m ready to go.”
Jackson also felt that the team left a lot of scoring on the table. The reigning NFL MVP fell to 23-2 against the NFC as a starter.
The Eagles’ defense was able to keep Jackson contained, with linebacker Nakobe Dean stating that the team didn’t do anything extra to stop him. “The front just kept at it, that’s it. We didn’t keep a spy on him, we didn’t do anything extra,” Dean said.
