A High-Stakes Showdown in Buffalo: Ravens’ Lamar Jackson Faces Bills’ Josh Allen in AFC Divisional Round
A thrilling matchup is on tap for Sunday night in Orchard Park, New York, as the Baltimore Ravens, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, travel to face the Buffalo Bills, led by quarterback Josh Allen, in the AFC divisional round. The two MVP front-runners, who have never been close friends, are set to face off in a high-stakes showdown.
According to Jackson, he doesn’t “chill” with other quarterbacks, including Allen, even in the offseason. “Don’t get me wrong, there’s no problem or nothing like that, but we’re competing with each other. I’m trying to beat you. I’m not trying to be your friend,” he said.
The two quarterbacks, who were drafted in 2018, have faced off four times as starters, with the score evened at two apiece. In their only playoff matchup, the Bills won 17-3 in the divisional round of the 2020 season.
Jackson is coming off arguably the best regular season of his NFL career, posting a 119.6 passer rating, while completing 66.7% of his passes. He also rushed for 915 yards and four touchdowns. Allen, on the other hand, totaled 3,731 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and a 101.4 passer rating, while rushing for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The winner of this game will face the winner of the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
