The NFL’s My Cause My Cleats week is just around the corner, and Baltimore Ravens star safety Kyle Hamilton has unveiled his customized cleats that will bring attention to the organization Our Military Kids. The initiative allows players to wear customized footwear to show off their chosen causes, and Hamilton has partnered with USAA, the official Salute to Service partner of the NFL.

Hamilton’s cleats feature the Our Military Kids logo and a picture of kids playing together on one shoe, while the other shoe displays the different branches of the military in various fonts and colors on a purple base. The 27-year-old, in his third year with the Ravens, has been working with the organization and has already had the opportunity to interact with some of the children and families affected by the sacrifices made by their parents.

Hamilton sported his customized cleats ahead of a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spoke about why this cause is so important to him. “My Cause My Cleats is a great week of the year for players to show some individuality and highlight some causes they feel need to be talked about,” he said. “And I feel like I appreciate USAA for partnering with me on this. It was an incredible experience, and I got to humanize myself and give those kids the opportunity to ask questions or whatever. It was pretty cool.”

The safety also shared a touching moment from his time with the children, stating that it puts everything into perspective. “They have such a happy outlook on life, and I’ve always said, they don’t get to choose their families or their situation. But they make the most of it, and I feel like that’s something all of us can take from even 7-, 8-year-old kids. To have a great outlook on life, play the cards you’re dealt. And it definitely rubbed off on me to take a step back and appreciate where I am.”

Ten other Ravens players will also be wearing custom cleats to show off their chosen causes, including tight end Mark Andrews and receiver Rashod Bateman.
