Kraven the Hunter Cast Talks Stunt Work in Exclusive BTS Clip
In an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, the cast and stunt team of the upcoming Marvel Studios film “Kraven the Hunter” reveal what it takes to bring the iconic comic book character’s action-packed adventures to life.
Starring Oscar Isaac as the titular Kraven, the film follows the complex and dark character as he tracks down the infamous Spider-Man. Joining Isaac are Alessandro Ciani and Fresh Hopper, who play J.J. and J.W.Whether, the Hunter and Spider-Manrespectively, and detective Jimmy Smalls, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
In the clip, Isaac, Ciani, and Hopper discuss the physical demands of their roles, as well as the unique stunts they incorporated into the film. “It was a big production, and we had a lot of people involved in the stunts, a lot of stunt double were involved, but we also had some amazing stunt actors who performed some pretty intense stunts,” Ciani said.
“I think the most challenging stunt, for me, was the battle with Spider-Man. It was a five-day shoot, and it was physically demanding. We did a lot of MMA training, and we did a lot of acrobatic training. It was a real challenge, but it was also very rewarding,” Hopper added.
For Smalls, it was about getting into the mindset of the character. “Jim’s a very anxious, very high-strung, very tense character, and I had to get into that headspace,” he explained. “I worked with a great dialect coach, and we developed a kind of idiosyncratic way of speaking for Jim. We also did a lot of improv, which is always fun to do, especially when you’re playing a character like this, who’s always on edge.”
Isaac, meanwhile, praised the stunt team for their work on the film. “The stunt team was amazing. They were so talented, and they brought such a high level of energy to the set every day. We had a lot of amazing stunt performers, and they did some incredible work,” he said.
“Kraven the Hunter” is set to hit theaters next year, promising an action-packed, thrill-ride that will satisfy fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With its impressive stunt sequences, complex characters, and talented cast, this film is shaping up to be one not to be missed.
