Kirk Cousins Reflects on Netflix’s “Quarterback” Docuseries, Says Wife Kourtney Keeps Getting Recognized After Show
Kirk Cousins, a 36-year-old NFL quarterback, appeared on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” to discuss the Netflix docuseries “Quarterback,” which premiered last year. The show offered an unprecedented look into the life of an NFL quarterback during the season.
Cousins’ wife, Kourtney, was a central figure in the documentary, and he noted that she has received a lot more recognition since its release. “My wife was kind of the star of the show besides Patrick Mahomes, and she definitely gets recognized a lot more, which is fun,” he said.
The quarterback also believes the show has helped fans get to know him better as a person, rather than just as a football player. “I felt like that show in one way or another just kind of helped people who have followed me or followed the teams that I’ve played on to get to know me a little better, which was a huge win,” he said.
For Cousins, the docuseries is about more than just increased familiarity with his fans. He highlighted its value as a way to document his life and career for the sake of his children. “For posterity’s sake, like, my boys are pretty young, so in 10 years, to be able to pull up that show and say ‘Hey boys, you kinda want to go down memory lane and kinda see some of what dad did in the 2022 football season,’ I think that will be valuable content to have. So that’s kind of fun too and a win coming out of it,” he said.
The NFL quarterback is currently playing for the Atlanta Falcons, having previously played for the Minnesota Vikings. He led the Vikings to a 13-4 regular season record in 2022 before signing with the Falcons in free agency.
