Caesars Sports discovered a massive $1.3 million bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. This bet, placed by a high-roller at Caesars Palace, would net a $1 million profit if the Chiefs win, making the total payout $2.3 million.

Kansas City’s strong recent playoff performance against the Bills has contributed to the high-stakes betting. The two teams have a tied series record of 4-4, but the Chiefs have won three playoff matches, including a pair of victories in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.

Caesars’s head of football trading, Joey Feazel, attributes the massive bet to the team’s historical success in the playoffs, stating, “It’s no surprise that it’s on the Chiefs. If you look at the precedent the past couple of years, the Chiefs have beaten the Bills in this spot.”

Feazel notes that big bets on the Bills-Chiefs matchup are coming in from both sharps and squares. The line has fluctuated between -1 and -2, with Caesars opening the game with the Chiefs as 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff at -1, nudging it to -1.5, and eventually settling at -2.

For the NFC Championship Game, the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Commanders on FOX. The two teams have a history, having met three times this season, with the Eagles winning the most recent match-up 26-16 as 4.5-point home favorites.

Caesars opened the Eagles at -5, but the line has moved to -6, drawing sharp action. A bettor placed a significant $160,000 on the Commanders moneyline +228, which would net a $364,800 profit if Washington wins, for a total payout of $524,800.

Feazel expressed his confidence in the Eagles, stating, “The Eagles are our best outcome to win the Super Bowl.” He also noted that the Chiefs’ recent success in the playoffs and their familiarity with the Bills have contributed to the high-stakes betting.

Professional bettor Randy McKay bet on the Kansas City Chiefs moneyline against the Buffalo Bills, taking advantage of a -120 price. He cited the Chiefs’ strong playoff performance and their history against the Bills.

As the weekend approaches, high-rollers continue to place large bets on both games. Caesars has reported a range of notable wagers, including a $100,000 bet on the Chiefs to win the AFC and a $50,000 bet on the Eagles to win the NFC.
