Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has had a remarkable debut season, with a chance to make history in the upcoming NFC Championship Game. He has surpassed expectations, leading his team to the championship game as a rookie. FOX Sports’ Keyshawn Johnson, a former NFL player, has praised Daniels’ performance, calling him the “best rookie I’ve ever seen.”

Johnson compared Daniels’ rookie season to that of 2023 standout quarterback C.J. Stroud, who won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award. Johnson believes Daniels has gone even further, stating, “You had to go and duplicate and then some of what C.J. Stroud was able to put on the field a year ago for the Houston Texans.” Daniels has amassed impressive statistics throughout the season, including 3,568 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 891 rushing yards, and six rushing touchdowns.

Johnson’s title of “best rookie ever” is based on his own personal experience watching football, admitting that he has not seen the performances of legend O.J. Simpson and Jim Brown. With a win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Daniels would become the first rookie quarterback to start in a Super Bowl, and he is favored to win the 2024 NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
