Josh Allen propels Buffalo Bills to dominant playoff victory over Denver Broncos

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills Dominated the Denver Broncos 31-7 in the Wild-Card Round

The Buffalo Bills took care of business in the wild-card round, defeating the Denver Broncos 31-7, and advancing to the divisional round to face the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills were the heavy favorites going into the game, with rookie quarterback Bo Nix starting in his first playoff game on the road against a veteran Buffalo squad.

The game began with Nix launching a 43-yard strike to his old Oregon teammate Troy Franklin to put Denver up 7-0. However, the Bills soon got going, scoring 31 unanswered points, including a field goal and touchdown on their first two offensive drives. James Cook, who co-led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns this season, scored a five-yard touchdown early in the second quarter to make it 10-7.

The Bills’ dominance in the second half was impressive, as they scored on every drive except to kneel down at the end of the game. Touchdown passes from Josh Allen to Ty Johnson and Curtis Samuel sealed the victory at 28-7 as the fourth quarter began.

Allen was efficient, going 20-for-26 for 272 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, while also rushing for 46 yards on eight carries. Samuel had a huge game, catching six passes for 68 yards, including a 55-yard score. The Bills held the Broncos to just 79 yards rushing, and Dennis Allen was ousted in his first playoff game.

With the win, the Bills will host the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round, looking to secure a spot in the AFC Championship.
