Josh Allen falls short again, saying “you’ve got to beat the best to be the best.”

Kansas City Chiefs Win AFC Championship, Return to Super Bowl for Third Straight Year

For the third consecutive season, the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC Championship, claiming a 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills. The win gives the Chiefs a chance to make history in the Super Bowl in New Orleans next month.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who is 0-4 against the Chiefs in the postseason, was left frustrated and emotional after the loss. “It’s just not fun,” he said. “But to be the champs, you got to beat the champs, and we didn’t do it tonight.”

Allen had the ball in his hands to change the outcome of the game late in the fourth quarter, but a prayer downfield to tight end Dalton Kincaid was incomplete. The Chiefs then got the first downs they needed to seal the win and send themselves to the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ quarterback, praised Allen after the game. “I have so much respect for Josh, man. He’s a true competitor, a true warrior, a great football player. They always come down to the wire. Luckily, we were on the winning side this time. I’m excited to get down to New Orleans. Let’s go make history.”

The Bills will now head back to the drawing board to regroup and try to change their fortunes in 2025. Allen, an MVP finalist, was focused on the team’s loss rather than his individual achievement. “You can either get it done, or you can’t. We didn’t get it done.”
