Jimmy Carter, renowned champion of human rights, passes away at 100.

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has passed away at the age of 100. Carter was known for his international human rights efforts and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his lifetime of dedication to that cause.

The news of Carter’s death was announced by the Carter Center, which posted a tribute site for the late president. Carter was survived by his wife, Rosalynn, who passed away on November 19, 2023, at the age of 96, and their children, John William (Jack), James Earl (Chip), and Donnel Jeffrey (Jeff), and their daughter, Amy Lynn.

President Joe Biden praised Carter, saying that “he worked to eradicate disease, forge peace, advance civil and human rights, promote free and fair elections, house the homeless, and always advocate for the least among us. He saved, lifted, and changed the lives of people all across the globe.”

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also paid tribute to Carter, saying that “he guided by his faith, lived to serve others… until the very end, he worked tirelessly for a better, fairer world.”

Carter’s death is a significant loss for the United States and the world, as he was a champion of human rights and a leader who embodied the values of compassion, integrity, and hope.

In his later years, Carter continued to be a vocal advocate for human rights and social justice, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
