Garrett Wilson Unsure About Jets Future, Cites Team’s Disappointing Season
Garrett Wilson, the star wide receiver for the New York Jets, is having the best season of his young career statistically, but is uncertain about his long-term future with the team.
“I don’t know, man. I just do whatever, go about my day however, be where my feet at,” Wilson said in a press conference on Thursday.
If the team were to offer him a contract extension, he would be open to it, but he’s not focusing on that right now. He loves the Jets, but his priority is finishing out the remainder of the season.
The team has had a disappointing season, with a 4-10 record, and things have only gotten worse since the firing of head coach Robert Saleh. The team is now 2-7 since his departure.
Despite this, Wilson is on pace to set a career high in yards, and his performance is outside of the team’s struggles. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has also shown recent improvement, throwing 13 touchdowns and just one interception in his last seven games.
It remains to be seen whether Wilson will re-sign with the Jets, as his future with the team is uncertain.
