Jets’ long Super Bowl drought stump for Jeopardy! contestants

Sports fans watching “Jeopardy!” on Thursday night were left stunned and disappointed as contestants struggled to answer a seemingly easy “Final Jeopardy” clue about Super Bowl history. The clue read, “It’s the only team to play in the Super Bowl before Neil Armstrong’s moon walk that has not been back to the big game since.”

The New York Jets were the answer, as they are the only team to play in the Super Bowl from 1967 to 1969 that has not appeared in the game since then. However, contestants failed to get it right, with one writing down the Cleveland Browns, who have never even appeared in a Super Bowl. Another wrote down the New York Giants, who have appeared in five Super Bowls and won two. A third contestant wrote down “Houston,” although the city has hosted three Super Bowls, not the team that has never appeared in the game.

Ken Jennings added to the Jets’ woes, saying, “The Jets are having a pretty rough 55-year streak.” The team has a long history of failure and is officially eliminated from playoff contention this year, which will likely extend their losing streak.
