Ohio State and Oregon to Face Off Again in College Football Playoff
Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is looking to bring a different game to their rematch against the Oregon Ducks in the College Football Playoff. The two teams met earlier in the season, with Oregon emerging victorious 32-31. Smith had nine catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in the first game, and he vows to be even more effective this time around.
In their first meeting, Ohio State suffering a tough loss to Michigan in the final game of the regular season, with Smith expressing his frustrations with the defeat. He then took his frustrations out on Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff, with six catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
Smith has received high praise for his play, being compared to some of the great wide receivers to come out of Ohio State in recent years. He has also earned top-tier accolades, including Big Ten Receiver of the Year and Second-Team All-America.
Despite the accolades, Smith remains humble and focused on continued improvement. “Just can’t let that statement just get in my head,” he said. “I know I have two, three more years left here just to develop and just get better.”
Smith’s success has not gone unnoticed, and he is expected to be a key factor in the Buckeyes’ matchup against the Ducks. With a different game plan in place for the rematch, Smith is looking to take advantage of any opportunities that come his way in what should be a highly competitive and entertaining game.
