Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd star in “Roadkill,” a dark comedy about a supernatural road trip turned chaotic nightmare.

The trailer for the upcoming dark comedy “Death of a Unicorn” has been released, offering a glimpse into the story of a father and daughter who accidentally hit a magical unicorn with their car. Written and directed by Alex Scharfman, the film stars Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Richard E. Grant, Sunita Mani, and Téa Leoni.

The trailer shows Elliot (Rudd) trying to convince his daughter Riley (Ortega) to put on a good face for a visit with big pharma CEOs. However, things take a turn when they hit the unicorn on their drive, and chaos ensues after they bring the dead creature to a rich CEO’s wilderness retreat.

The trailer suggests that the film is a satirical commentary on big pharma, with the unicorn’s medicinal qualities being discovered and the characters’ reactions implying that the company sees it as a financial opportunity. The film also sets up a comedic dynamic between Ortega’s Riley and the rest of the group, as she refuses to put up with the rich people’s antics.

The trailer hints that the film will poke fun at the wealthy elite, joining the wave of popular rich-person satire films like “Knives Out” and “The White Lotus.” If the film can balance humor with crisp social commentary, viewers could be in for a treat. “Death of a Unicorn” is set to be released in Spring 2025.
