Jeff Bezos meets Trump, latest tech mogul to visit the White House.

President-elect Donald Trump Announced Meeting with Jeff Bezos to Be Held at Mar-a-Lago

President-elect Donald Trump made the surprise announcement on Thursday that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos would be meeting with him next week, likely at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Trump made the announcement during a live interview on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where he had been named prior to ringing the opening bell as Time’s Person of the Year.

Bezos would be the latest in a string of tech moguls to meet with Trump since the election, following in the footsteps of Tesla, SpaceX, and X owner Elon Musk, who has spent considerable time with Trump in recent weeks. Earlier in the week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago for dinner, and later donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.

Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, drew criticism for not allowing the paper’s left-leaning editorial board to make an endorsement in the presidential election. In fact, the paper had planned to back Vice President Kamala Harris in the race. Trump had often prior to his presidency bashed Bezos and Amazon, and representatives for Bezos could not be immediately reached for comment, according to Reuters.
