JAY-Z tries to dismiss rape lawsuit citing legal loopholes.

JAY-Z Attempts to Dismiss Rape Lawsuit Over Legal Loopholes

Rap mogul JAY-Z is attempting to dismiss a lawsuit filed against him by a woman who claims he raped her in 1995. The lawsuit, which was filed in 2013, alleges that JAY-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, assaulted the woman at a party in Los Angeles.

According to court documents, JAY-Z’s legal team is arguing that the statute of limitations has expired, and that the lawsuit should be dismissed due to a legal loophole. The loophole, known as the ” discovery rule,” allows for the statute of limitations to be tolled, or paused, until the victim discovers the harm caused by the alleged assault.

JAY-Z’s legal team is arguing that the victim did not discover the harm caused by the alleged assault until many years after the fact, and that therefore the statute of limitations has not expired. The victim, on the other hand, is arguing that she did discover the harm caused by the alleged assault in a timely manner, and that the statute of limitations should not be tolled.

The case is ongoing, and a judge has yet to rule on JAY-Z’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
