A Lawsuit Accuses Jay-Z of Raping a 13-Year-Old Girl with Diddy
Jay-Z has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl with Sean “Diddy” Combs at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, according to a civil suit filed on Sunday.
The lawsuit, which has been refiled in court, alleges that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and Combs, 55, sexually assaulted the unidentified teenage girl at a house party in 2000.
The accuser, Jane Doe, claims that a driver at the VMAs who worked for Combs gave her a ride to the house where the party was held. She allegedly had a drink that made her feel “woozy” before the alleged assault.
The suit claims that Jay-Z held her down and raped her while Diddy and an unnamed female celebrity watched on.
Combs is currently in jail in New York ahead of a trial next May, facing charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Jay-Z has denied all accusations against him, describing the lawsuit as “blackmail.”
In a statement, Jay-Z claimed that the lawsuit was an extortion attempt and that he is willing to expose the allegations in a “very public fashion” rather than paying off the accuser. He also expressed concern for his family, including his wife Beyoncé and children, who may have to deal with the fallout.
Combs’ spokesman dismissed the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “shameless publicity stunt” and stating that Combs is confident in the facts of the case and the integrity of the judicial process.
