Signing to the Practice Squad, Former First-Rounder Lands with Lions
Safety Myles Adams has joined the Detroit Lions practice squad on a path to the postseason. When he received a call from defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, it was a no-brainer for him to accept the opportunity.
As a backup, Adams could potentially fill in for Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch, or the team could use him as a box player. Given the linebacker injuries, particularly to Malcolm Rodriguez’s knee, Adams could be seen as a viable option at the position, utilizing his 213-pound frame.
Another possibility is that the Lions will use Adams as a blitzer, as he has a knack for timing blitzes, a skill that he exhibited early in his career. The team’s linebackers have struggled with blitzing this year.
Head coach Dan Campbell discussed the team’s plans for Adams and other recent additions, stating that they will play it by ear, getting a look at the new players on Thursday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Campbell emphasized that the team will assess who can contribute and how, aiming to maximize their chances of success.
