Dive teams combed through the murky waters of Central Park’s Lake yesterday, searching for clues in the murder investigation of a CEO whose body was found in the lake last week.
The body of 44-year-old CEO, Brian Smith, was discovered on Wednesday by a passerby. Investigators believe Smith was murdered and his body was deliberately dumped in the lake.
Yesterday, police released new photos of a suspect in the case, showing a person wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses. The suspect is described as being around 5’9″ and 150 pounds.
Dive teams, accompanied by police and forensic experts, spent several hours searching the lake and its surrounding areas for evidence. The investigation is ongoing and police have not yet revealed what evidence they have found.
Friends and family of Smith described him as a devoted father and husband who was active in his community. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, but police have said they are exploring several leads.
