India’s Nifty 50 index closes down 0.11% as markets fall.



India stocks closed lower on Wednesday, led by losses in the banking, real estate, and energy sectors. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) was down 0.11%, and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was also down 0.11%.

The best-performing stocks on the NSE were Tata Motors Ltd, which rose 1.92% to 736.10, Adani Enterprises Ltd, which added 1.43% to end at 2,372.45, and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd, which was up 1.00% to 292.00.

The worst-performing stocks were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, which fell 1.65% to 310.10, JSW Steel Ltd, which declined 1.62% to 921.85, and SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd, which was down 1.30% to 1,387.00.

On the BSE, the top performers were Tata Motors Ltd, ITC Ltd, and Nestle India Ltd, while the worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd, and Titan Co. Ltd.

More stocks rose than fell on the NSE, with 1186 gaining and 1141 declining, while 45 remained unchanged on the BSE. The implied volatility of Nifty 50 options fell 2.53% to a new 3-month low of 20.08.
