Ice Cube’s Son & Andrew Schulz Exchange Words Over Kendrick Joke
HipHopDX
In a recent exchange on social media, Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and comedian Andrew Schulz got into a back-and-forth over a joke about Kendrick Lamar.
The joke in question poked fun at Kendrick’s perceived lack of party music, with Schulz tweeting, “Kendrick Lamar’s biggest problem is that he’s always serious. Dude’s gotta lighten up and make a song that’s just straight party music.”
O’Shea Jackson Jr. responded by defending his friend Kendrick, tweeting, “Nah, my man’s on a mission to elevate the culture. You ain’t gotta party to make moves. #Respect”.
Schulz shot back, “Elevate the culture? He just elevates his ego… Kendrick’s the biggest thing since sliced bread and y’all still eating that cornbread”.
The exchange went back and forth for several tweets, with both parties standing firm in their respective opinions. In the end, it seemed like both sides agreed to disagree and move on.
It’s worth noting that while O’Shea Jackson Jr. has spoken publicly about his admiration for Kendrick Lamar and his music, Andrew Schulz has made jokes about Kendrick in the past and has been open about his dislike for certain types of hip-hop.
