Hunter Biden’s team issues fiery defense ahead of sentencing, possible pardon

Hunter Biden’s legal team has issued a passionate defense of the President’s son ahead of his upcoming sentencing for tax-related charges and amid ongoing discussions about a possible pardon.

In a statement, the Biden family’s lawyers lashed out at “reckless” and “misinformed” critics who have targeted Hunter over his personal and professional struggles.

“We urge the media and the public to separate the truth from the noise and the false narratives that have been peddled about Hunter Biden,” the statement reads.

The lawyers, including George Mesires, Kathleen Turner, and Justin Meyer, pointed to Hunter’s history of overcoming addiction and his efforts to turn his life around.

“Hunter Biden has dedicated his life to helping others and has spent years overcoming personal struggles, including addiction and family loss,” the statement reads. “He has used his experiences to help others, including advocating for substance abuse treatment and working to raise awareness about addiction and mental health.”

The team also highlighted Hunter’s cooperation with authorities during the investigation, saying he had provided “substantial” information to the government.

“Hunter Biden has always been willing to cooperate with authorities and has provided substantial information to the government in connection with the investigation,” the statement reads.

The Biden team’s statement comes as the President is under increasing pressure to intervene on behalf of his son. Hunter’s sentencing is scheduled for January 6, but there are ongoing discussions about the possibility of a pardon or commutation.

Hunter’s legal troubles have become a major source of political tension, with many Republicans calling for him to be held accountable for his actions. However, many Democrats have rallied around him, pointing to his personal struggles and his cooperation with authorities.

The Biden family’s lawyers are urging the public to focus on Hunter’s “remarkable journey of self-improvement” and to remember that he is a “dedicated and hardworking individual who has made mistakes, but has also shown the strength and resilience to overcome them.”
