The WWE may want to reconsider using Hulk Hogan on television following Monday night’s disastrous performance on Raw’s premiere on Netflix.
Hogan, 72, struggled to enter the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, accompanied by Jimmy Hart, carrying the American flag. However, as he began to speak, the crowd of 17,000-plus quickly turned on him, booing him mercilessly. The boos were so intense that they nearly drowned out Hogan’s words.
In his attempt to promote his Real American Beer and the latest episode of Raw on Netflix, Hogan’s speech was met with disdain, with fans vociferously booing him out of the building. As he appeared to become disheartened, Hogan eventually stormed out of the ring, earning the ire of the crowd.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Hogan has faced controversy. In the past, he was entangled in a racial slur scandal and appeared at the Republican National Convention to endorse Donald Trump. Despite his troubles, the WWE saw fit to bring Hogan back for Monday’s event.
The audience’s reaction to Hogan’s appearance was so heated that it left him visibly angry, according to Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net, who reported that Hogan was visibly mad and had to be walked away from the ring. Whether the WWE will continue to feature Hogan in the future remains to be seen, given the public’s increasingly negative reaction to his presence.
