Houston Pimp Arrested After Hospital Trip

A Houston pimp who skipped bail during his trial 20 months ago has been recaptured and is back in custody. Thaddeus Allen, 36, was sentenced to 75 years in prison for human trafficking even though he failed to appear in court. He had been on the run since April 2023, when a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for his trial.

Allen had been in and out of prison multiple times, earning him the nickname “The Ghost” due to his ability to disappear. However, his luck ran out on New Year’s Eve when he was admitted to a Houston hospital under an alias after overdosing on PCP and methamphetamine.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located Allen after receiving a tip and he was taken into custody on Monday. Andy Kahan of Houston Crime Stoppers described Allen as a “bad, bad dude” who was responsible for human trafficking and compelling prostitution.

Allen’s trial began in April and he appeared for the first five days, but failed to appear for the final day, when the jury delivered its guilty verdict. Despite not being in court, the jury found him guilty of human trafficking and handed down a 75-year prison sentence.

Allen will be required to serve half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. The DA’s office described him as a “habitual felon” with several felony convictions on his record, including evading police and burglary.
