The 2024 College Football Playoff (CFP) has come to an end, but the memories created by individual standout performances will not be forgotten soon. FOX Sports research has examined the top 10 individual shows in the 11-year history of the tournament, considering remarkable displays by quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers.
One example is Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo, who kept his team within striking distance in a 39-31 shoot-out against Texas. Skattebo carried 30 times for 143 yards and two rushing touchdowns, additionally catching eight receptions for 99 yards and adding a 42-yard passing touchdown.
Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, a true freshman phenom, was unstoppable throughout the tournament. He contributed to the Buckeyes’ run to the championship, setting a Big Ten record for receiving yards (1,315) and touchdown receptions (15). One of his standout performances came against Oregon in the Rose Bowl, where he totaled 187 receiving yards and two scores.
Two other notable stars were Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith, who established title game records for receptions (12) and receiving touchdowns (three), despite suffering a finger injury; and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, who threw five touchdowns and only one interception before leaving the national title game.
Other standout players include LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who notched 38 touchdowns and one interception in nine games; University of Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb; and Clemson running back Travis Etienne. For the full Top 10 listing, see here.
