Here is a rewritten title: “Bloodlines: Release Date, Cast, and Story Revealed”

Death is Back in the Franchise with Final Destination: Bloodlines

The Final Destination franchise is back after a long hiatus with the announcement of their next installment, Final Destination: Bloodlines. This re-imagining will shake up the formula of the series, which started as a spec script for an episode of The X-Files under the title “Flight 180”.

The latest news confirms the release date for Final Destination: Bloodlines, set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025, and will be screened in IMAX. The film will feature an all-new cast, including Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, and Kaitlyn Santa Juana, alongside returning franchise regular, Tony Todd.

Tony Todd was initially set to reprise his role as William Bludworth, but his passing in November 2024 has left the fate of his involvement in the film uncertain. The movie’s plot is still under wraps, but franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick hinted that it will break away from the traditional setup of setting up a group of people to cheat death, only to have death claim them. Reddick described the new film as a true Final Destination movie that will change everything.

The story follows a group of first responders and emergency workers who are already familiar with death, only to find themselves in the path of death. It is hinted that the rules of the Final Destination universe will be shaken up in this film, but details will likely only be revealed when the film premieres.

The premonition-based horror franchise returns in Final Destination: Bloodlines, with the formula remaining the same. Each film’s protagonist has a vision of a deadly event, and by avoiding their own death and the deaths of others, they inadvertently cause death to claim those who have escaped, orchestrating bizarre accidents to kill them one by one.
